State of Play Virtual Architecture Competition

From the not-exactly-Machinima-dept: this year's State of Play conf (which is one of my yearly faves) is holding a virtual public space competition, giving you architect archetypes a chance to shine. The competition is looking for the best public, democratic or civic architecture in a virtual world. The first place prize includes a trip to this year's SoP (Oct 6th-8th), work featured in the SoP issue of First Monday, and $500 cashola (that's real US dollars, btw).

More details can be found here. The competition deadline is Sept. 28th, so get crackin' on submitting those hawt hoods you've hammered out.

I think this is a great idea, myself. I won't be entering, myself (having enough trouble just making an office suite that doesn't look like an expensive hotel inside; I'm such a deco slut), but I can't wait to see the best entries.
